In October, the SIDC presidency meetings focused on medical devices issues and public relations

The State Institute for Drug Control continued in activities set out by the Slovak Presidency of the European Union. In October 2016, SIDC hosted meetings of two working groups - Competent Authorities for Medical Devices (CAMD) a Working Group of Communication Professionals (WGCP). 

From 17 – 19 October 2016, the CAMD meeting was organized in Austria Trend Hotel Bratislava. During the two days, more than 70 delegates discussed important issues relating to medical devices, including the implementation of the pending new Medical Devices and In Vitro Diagnostic Regulations.

From 26th to 28th October 2016, the WGCP meeting was held in a historical building of the National Council at Zupne namestie Bratislava. More than 30 representatives, working as communication experts in EU medicines agencies, arrived to Bratislava to share their best practices and spoke about the improvement of communication activities towards the patients, HCPs and industry.
